    Our Mission

As disciples of our Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, Zion Lutheran Church is a community at prayer, in the Word, rejoicing in our baptism, and feasting regularly on His body and blood. Being thereby equipped and empowered, we love and serve the community in which God has placed us by our witness to Christ, by showing mercy, and by welcoming all into our joyful fellowship.

    Verse of the Day

    • “[Trials and Temptations] Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

    Who We Are

Here at Zion, we acknowledge God's presence in His holy Word and Sacrament and are thankful for the way in which His blessings have been with us throughout the 154 year history of this congregation which was founded in 1861. We believe, teach and confess that the primary mission of the church is to make disciples of every nation by bearing witness to Jesus Christ through the preaching of the Gospel and the administration of the Sacraments.

Our main teaching is the Good News (evangel) about Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible teaches that all are sinners and apart from Jesus Christ, we would be lost in this world and the next. But we also trust that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) His death and resurrection brings new life to all who believe in him both now and in heaven. (John 3:16,17). The aim of our congregation is that the Good News of our salvation be preached and taught in order that people might be made disciples of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the focal point of our lives, both here in church and in our c community.

    What We Believe

ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH is a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS). With the universal Christian Church, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, Creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became truly human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. The three person of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, on God.
