Drive-In Service Anyone?

I’ve aquired a 20 watt digital FM transmitter and since this time of isolation is likely to continue into May, we will have the technology to have a DRIVE IN SERVICE for Easter by reamining in our cars and listening to the service broadcast over your car’s FM radio. There are lots of logistics to pull this off, so if you’d like to help, please let me know A.S.A.P.

As you all know, the situation in our community, state, nation, and world is changing day to day, even hour by hour. We will be keeping the health and safety of our congregation upmost in our deliberations and decisions. This page will be updated frequently.

Tithes and Offerings

Please be generous and mail in your offerings! We still have bills to pay, and having a church to return to after this pandemic is over, really depends on everyone supporting Zion with your offerings. You may mail them directly to our treasurer, Gail Struss, 117 1st Street, Coal Valley, IL 61240-9307, or donate with a credit/debit card below. We still have bills to pay even though we are not meeting, and our future depends on your generous support. Thank you!

You may donate online right now at the link above!

The Lord’s Supper

Pastor is available, by appointment, to offer the Lord’s Supper at church on an individual/family basis. He is willing to come to your home by invitation, but again, recognize that this carries some risk. Please contact him at 309-236-3882.

Portals of Prayer

If you’d like my to drop the APRIL-JUNE issue of PORTALS OF PRAYER to you in the mail, please let me know. I’d be happy to do so.

Coronavirus Questions?

Deanna Talbot, a Genesis nurse, is also available for consultation on medical questions when available. Please contact her at phone (309) 236-2618.

During this unprecedented time of turmoil, especially when we can’t meet together to share Word and Sacrament, please keep your fellow Zion members in mind. Pray for each other; reach out to one another by phone, email, text, or social media. Particularly keep in mind those that are hospitalized or shut-in and can’t receive visitors. Even though we are apart, we can still stay together using the technology that God has provided. And continue to read your Bibles!

And lastly, remember that church is not the building. Church is the family of believers – the Bride of Christ. We are temporarily closing the building. But the church still exists. The Word will not be silenced. Paraphrasing St. Paul in Romans, “Neither life nor death, nor angels or demons, nor viruses or infections can keep us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus”.
